Longtime City Council member James "Coach" Jett died April 6, 2020 after a long illness. Coach Jett served 52 years on the Warrior City Council after being elected to the office in 1968.
According to Mayor Ragland, Coach Jett's legacy will be his love for the local children and his work with the park and recreation board. Until his health began to fell him, Coach Jett could often be seen working to keep the park and recreation facilities in top shape.
According to Councilman Chuck Mosely, "Coach Jett's wealth of knowlege, experience and love for the city can never be replaced."
